Our on-site mobile splatter sessions are scheduled for 60 minutes for up to 8 people.  For larger groups, multiple splatter sessions are held back-to-back to accommodate the size of your party.  The duration of the splatter session may be extended beyond 60 mins to ensure everyone in your party has sufficient time for the activity.

The duration of the sessions include time to put on protective gear, an orientation/splatter tutorial/safety brief, and paint session.

We have found that very young children can stay fully immersed in the experience and fully satisfied with 20-30 minute sessions, and often start looking for other entertainment after that time period.
The paint is safe and washable and some protective gear is supplied to cover your shoes and clothing.  While paint will easily wash off from skin and hair, paint is not guaranteed to come out of all clothing fibers. Additionally, the protective gear may not fully conform to all bodies, particularly very small children.  Therefore, we advise guests to come prepared to splatter!  Wear clothing that they don’t mind getting painted.  Remember, if the paint doesn't get you, your friends may!
The majority of people come to splatter and walk away paint free. However, we love over-zealous guests who let it all loose in the splatter shack... we'd just like to prepare you on what to expect.

A waterproof poncho, shoe coverings, and safety glasses are supplied for the activity. While paint will easily wash off from skin and hair, paint is not guaranteed to come out of all clothing fibers. Additionally, the protective gear may not fully conform to all bodies, particularly very small children. Therefore, we advise our guests to come prepared to splatter!

- Wear clothing that you won't mind if paint accidentally gets on it.
- Wear shorts or pants that have legs that can roll up. Depending on your height, the poncho provided may not fully cover your entire length. The bottom portions of pants can be exposed. Wearing shorts or rolling up your pant legs under the poncho will increase the chances of keeping your pants paint free.
- Tie back long hair. Most long hair will be covered under the poncho hoodie but prevent paint from getting on those loose strands by keeping them under a hair tie or bun.
- Leave your Prada's and other famous kicks at home. Depending on your foot and shoe size, the shoe coverings provided may not fully conform or cover your entire shoes.  For smaller guests, we can provide rubber bands and/or tape to secure the shoe covering over small feet. Some of our guests have elected to go barefoot or socks-only to keep their shoes paint free and outside of the splatter space.
After you've splattered your heart out to create a one-of-a -kind art masterpiece, our splatter host will place your canvas into a specially designed take-home box.  The box must be held level and flat in transit.  Once you get to your destination, lay the box flat and allow your canvas to dry undisturbed for 12-24 hours.  The canvas will dry best in room temperature maintained between 65-75 deg F.  Leaving the box top open will aid in the drying process and speed drying.
We are currently serving Southern Maryland.

The cost of equipment transport and set up within St Mary's County is included in the cost. Depending on location and distance, locations outside of St Mary's County may incur an additional mileage cost.

The shack is fully mobile and can be set up anywhere—inside or outside. The area must level and clear of obstructions. Please read F.A.Q: What do I need to do to prepare before The Splatter Shack shows up? for specific information about the size and space preparation required.

A "shack-full" accommodates 8 adults for a single splatter session.  If all of your party guests are small children, we will work with you to try and accommodate additional kids within the same splatter session up to 10 children.

In all cases, we will do our best to accommodate guests within the same splatter session, however due to space limitations within the shack, we may have to split up large groups and run back-to-back splatter sessions to ensure the comfort of all of our guests. We will work with you to select group size and the additional duration of the splatter party.
The Splatter Shack will transport, set up, and clean up all equipment for your party to make it worry-free for you. However, we do need your help completing the actions below to ensure the site is prepared prior to our arrival:
  1. The Splatter Shack will arrive at your party location to begin set up approximately 1 hour prior to your scheduled start time.  If there are any changes to site location, please contact us directly.
  2. Select an area that is level and at least 10x15 sqft where you would like the spatter shack to be set up.
  3. Clear the area of ground debris (rocks, large sticks, AND doggie bombs.)
  4. Clear the area of obstructions.
    • If the splatter shack will be set up outdoors, then clear the ground area of obstructions.
    • If the splatter shack will be set up indoors (garage, building, etc), then ensure the area is also clear of obstructions up to 11.5 feet high.
When deciding where you would like the splatter shack to be set up for your party, you may want to consider a site that is centrally located to other party activities, food and beverages; a site that is clear of car traffic and road obstructions; a site that offers space for guests to access the shack easily; and a site that offers some shade (for summer) or wind protection.
